Dear friends,

the hubby‘s ailment completely took me us by surprise and somewhat threw us off track. And it blatantly made plain how much I depend on him, how important he is to me and my well-being and which huge part he plays in my life.

When you’ve been around here for a while, you might feel that the hubby is pretty indulgent to me and my follies. Ah well, he is, even though he doesn‘t really approve of kitsch and garishness – at least not when it concerns himself (it probably suffices when he has to put up with me and my freakiness).

And that’s why I’m a bit anxious concerning his reactions to the Valentine’s gift I made for him…

BTW: You’ve still got plenty of time to make your sweetheart a lovingly handmade Valentine’s cushion. Here’s the chart:

I used Katia Alabama yarn along with some scraps of the same yarn I was/am hoarding and as the cushion was made with a 5mm crochet hook, it didn’t take long to finish either! The finished size is approx. 40X40 cm.

I’ll keep in touch!

Liebe Freunde,

Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party #14

Welcome to the Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party!

It's the 1st Saturday of February 2019!

It's time for the Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party!

This Link-Up Party is all about granny squares. You are most welcome to link-up any projects you've made with either the traditional granny square, the solid one or any granny square you love or even have created yourself.

The Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party will start on the first Saturday of each month at 8 a.m. (CET) and will run 20 days. You'll be able to share your finished objects as well as your WIPs with other crocheters from all around the world. The five most popular links will be featured and shared on my social media sites.

You haven't got to be a “big name” or a designer to join the Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party. All you need is a granny square related crochet (or knit) post. By joining the Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party you will be able to grow your blog as well as gather loads of inspiration.

Before we enter the next party, let's start with sharing the top link ups of the January Link-Up Party (#13):

  1. Pillowcover by Inekedc

  2. WACKY WEAVE BLOCK 4 by Häkelfieber

  3. Eine neue Häkeldecke by Atelier Wichtelhüsli

🎉Congratulations🎊, ladies!

Now let's move on to the Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party #14

 Party Rules (please read!):

  • Link directly to a granny square related crochet (or knit) blogpost (not to your home page). If you haven't got an actual project to show, feel free to add a link to an old blogpost! Anything family-friendly goes!
  • Limit to 3 links and don't repeat projects which have already been featured.
  • Link up your own work. Links infringing on copyright and/or trademark as well as sponsored posts will be deleted.
  • Please visit at least one other link and leave a nice comment to support your fellow crafter!
  • I'd highly appreciate if you'd follow me on at least one of my social media links (see below) – if only to know if you got featured or when the next Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party is due.

By adding your link to the Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party, you give me permission to share your post and pictures on my social media sites, in features, in round-ups and on my blog (always with a link back to you for proper credit).

Help me to get the Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party known by sharing on social media, by linking back to this party and by tagging it with #GrannySpirationLinkUpParty. The more people taking part, the merrier it'll become!

A Standstill - Stillstand

Dear friends,

January 2019 is getting me nowhere.

The hobby still not being at his best, I‘ve been pretty much absent from blogging, social media postings etc. His surgery isn‘t until the 23rd and things won‘t be back to normal for the first few weeks afterwards either, so this standstill will last a bit longer still…

Happy New Year

Dear friends,

even though the end of December wasn‘t all that brilliant, 2018 hasn‘t been a bad year. It did mean lots of changes to me, especially concerning day job, which is now taking up more space and time than it did this time last year, but otherwise: I started dying wool, finished a few crochet garments, ran the Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party, designed a handful of patterns, discovered the joy of making stitch markers, met a lot of people over the internet…
