Make Light - Erleuchtung

Dear friends,

I've been taking part in the social media spring clean, a free course by Emily Quinton of Makelight. If you frequent Instagram regularly you'll have noticed those Year of Colour pictures popping up at the end of 2017. I had one made too and not recognizing myself in that colour palette I visited Emily's site - and that's been one of the best impulses I had these last weeks.

The spring clean course didn't just alter my perspective on social media, which I found very demanding as well as overwhelming at times, it also gave me a little nudge on how to manage things as well as a boost on getting on.

Craft Swap – Ein Tauschgeschäft

Dear friends,

if you've watched episode 2 of my podcast* you'll know about the craft swap Christina of Garnharmoni initiated.

She proposed to knit me a (most lovely) hat with sheep and an alpaca and I could crochet her anything in return. I'll show you some pictures as soon as I've got the hat, but you might have a look at Christina's facebook or Instagram account to get a glimpse of the hat.

Luckily Christina mentioned she likes sunflowers. Early autumn 2016 I had posted a free pattern of small sunflowers in my blog.

Episode 2

Dear friends,

a new episode of the Atelier Marie-Lucienne Podcast is now online!

In this (second) episode I show you two FOs (the Folkloristic Valentine's Shawl and the Bright Retro Granny Square Coat), I tell you a little about my trip to Berlin and I talk about the WIPs, I'm currently working on, about stitch markers, about a craft swap with Christina (= Garnharmoni) and about project bags.

Woolgathering / Garn-Verordnung

Dear friends,

these last two weeks have been very busy, and I feel pretty exhausted. There's been a lot of non-yarny-related things to do (next to daily life as well as job), all rather time-consuming as well as stressful, unexpected and demanding.

So instead of recording my second podcast, as I intended to do, I've just prescribed myself a weekend of snug and quiet retreat into the studio. A weekend with some candles, lots of tea, some appeasing music, some mindless crochet, the odd stitch marker or even another project bag and maybe I'll finally feel up to tackling the commission I've been given a while back.

Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party #2

Welcome to the Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party!

It's the 1st Saturday of February! It's time for the second Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party!

(Hier geht's zu den deutschsprachigen Erläuterungen...)

This Link-Up Party is all about granny squares. You are most welcome to link-up any projects you've made with either the traditional granny square, the solid one or any granny square you love or even have created yourself.

The Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party will start on the first Saturday of each month at 8 a.m. (CET) and will run 20 days. You'll be able to share your finished objects as well as your WIPs with other crocheters from all around the world. The five most popular links will be featured and shared on my social media sites.

Bright Retro Granny Square Coat/Jacke

Dear friends,

it's been quite an adventure from the picture which I had in my head (and which I translated into this drawing)

to the finished object.

It took me from the 18th of December 2017 till the 31st of January 2018 to finish the coat. True I haven't been working on it full time – I did take a few breaks (just think of stitch markers, Valentine's Shawl and project bags)...
